Post Graduate Certificate in Taxation
As a person with a bachelor of commerce
degree, which provides a solid academic background in business, this
15 credit program is designed to provide you with the specialized knowledge
you need for today's changing business world in the shortest possible
time. The program aims at preparing the persons to generate self-employment
by way of practicing Taxation laws.
Students who have no previous significant
exposure to taxation will have the opportunity to view tax in the context
of general business and view taxation (and tax planning) as only one
aspect of the business decision-making process. The student will be
taught about taxation as an important actor affecting business and to
properly integrate tax factors with business decisions without becoming
a tax specialist.
Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Graduate Certificate
in Taxation, students must meet both the academic and language requirements
of the program.
Academic Requirements:
Student must hold a Bachelor of Commerce
Degree, Bachelor in Laws (LL.B), of any recognized University or has
passed any accountancy examination recognized by the Central Board of
Revenue constituted under the Central Board of Revenue Act, 1924 (Act
4 of 1924), for the purpose of clause (v) of sub-section (2) of section
288 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Act 43 of 1961) and under rule 50 of
the Income Tax Rules, 1962.
Students holding degrees other than
as mentioned above may register to gain access to the Post Graduate
Certificate Program but they may not be able to enroll as tax practitioner
for the purpose of the Gujarat Value Added Tax Act 2003, however they
might work as tax consultant.
