Education is such a valuable asset that not only supports the economic needs of a person but it shapes the over all development of an individual. The Gujarat University tries at her level best to provide the students with the latest knowledge keeping in view the contemporary development of science and technology. From last two years, we have initiated several short term but very useful career-focused, holistic and contemporary courses that will definitely help the individual to shape their career. It has been the motto of the Gujarat University to provide a qualitative and value based education, experience and environment where the students' intellectual excellence is supported by encouraging them to take part in many economic social and cultural activities.

 

Gujarat University offers a balanced blend of academic excellence, good avenues for research, variety of academic courses, a supportive environment, good location and good employment opportunities in the state, which is known for the entrepreneurship skills of its people. The new and innovative short term programs entirely run by eminent and experienced honorary faculty deserves all encomiums. The Post Graduate Certificate Course in Taxation is first of its kind, the value addition program on Taxation offered at Gujarat University by Dr. Intaj Malek (Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Tax). It was initiated in July 2007, just when VAT a new system of taxation was introduced.

 

As many as 400 students have undergone this short term but taught intoto program. Many students after finishing this course have started their own consultation work and are earning their bread. I congratulate Dr. Intaj Malek and his entire dedicated team for taking such an initiative and serve the society through his Alma-matter by offering four valuable courses within a short time span. These four entirely new courses will surely cater to the needs of the modern business world.
